TXF, Proximo and Uxolo mourn the loss of Sean Keating

Head of Export, Project and Development Finance
Exile Group is devastated to announce the death of our editor, Sean Keating.

We are devastated to announce that Sean Keating, our editor at Exile Group – TXF, Proximo Infra and Uxolo Development Finance – has died suddenly at the age of 59 on 3 November.

Sean joined TXF as editor in January 2017 and was founding editor of Proximo and Uxolo for the Exile Group. He has covered the project, export and asset and development finance sectors for three decades and is widely regarded as one of the foremost journalists and editors in the industry.

The engine behind the development of Exile Group editorial, Sean is mourned by the whole team as a kind, funny and brilliant man, and a friend and mentor to many of us. He was always reluctant to be centre stage, but elevated and encouraged those around him. He was a driving force, and a sharp interviewer, providing the pep to the driest editorial, while keeping us from florid descriptions.

He will be missed in the industry as someone who was always curious about how things worked, always keen to find out the real story, and whose integrity as a journalist was always paramount.

He would not have appreciated the attention, but we will be celebrating his life, influence and mentorship and will provide a fuller obituary in due course as we process this sad news as a team. Please bear with us as we adjust to his loss to our daily editorial output. Above all, Sean was a family man, and he will be dearly missed by his partner Emma, and his children Seamus and Molly.
